Phoenix Moulding & Door Supply was founded in 1984 as a manufacturer of architectural mouldings. The company primarily sold its products directly to contractors of high-end homes along the California coastline. In the early 1990's the partners found that there was a demand for more stylish interior doors for these homes. The most common interior door at the time was a flush paint or stain grade door. You could custom order wood stile & rail doors at a much higher cost but the styles were somewhat limited. The only way to have reasonably priced attractive paint grade interior door was to plant-on (attach) some moulding to the face of the door. Phoenix came up with a more innovative way to make stylish doors utilizing CAD/CAM methods. We took a flush solid door and cut out openings to correspond to the style of the door. We then made matching raised panels, shaped mouldings and assembled them into a solid raised panel door with raised mouldings.
This was an industry first and caught on like wildfire. The designs were almost limitless and the company started shipping product nationwide. Because of the change in focus the company was renamed Phoenix Door Mfg. Co.
In 2000 a local entrepreneur acquired the company and developed plans to expand the company's markets and add new products. To support this growth additional pieces of equipment were added such as CNC routers, door machines, presses, re-saws, conveyors, and many others. Within a 1-1/2 year period four new product lines were introduced. One of the new product lines introduced in 2001 was the Crystal Series true divided lite raised barring French door. This is a totally unique product that is offered exclusively by Phoenix. The company won the industries Crystal Achievement Award for most innovative door introduced that year by a small company.
The company relocated to Henderson Nevada in January 2004 bringing with it a core of key employees.
